Analysis

On the HLM site, a calendar titled "Best Times To Spot Rare Fish!" is displayed. Although the year is not included, it can be determined that calendar is current by referencing the lunar phases for the month. The calendar also includes time ranges for each date. The calendar has been updated with the coming of new months.

Gradient Background
The gradient background appears to continue through June into July.

Each monthly calendar has a gradient background of pastel colors. At first, when pieced together the gradient appears to continue from one month to the next, however when the August calendar is added, it does not appear to continue the trend. It has been observed that stark color changes within the gradient tend to occur during weeks that have a full or new moons.

Lunar Phases

The lunar phases shown are accurate to real-life lunar phase calendars. The length of a lunar month (the time between two full moons) is approximately 29.53 days on average. The eight lunar phases are called New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Waning Crescent.

Time Ranges

There are 2 time ranges listed for each date on the calendar. The first time range in a given date is typically in the AM hours while the second is typically in the PM hours. There are instances in which the first time range extends into afternoon hours. Likewise, the second given time ranges occasionally extend into early morning hours. At times, usually during a full moon, the two time ranges overlap.

Solunar Theory
An example of a solunar calendar from In-Fisherman.com.

Booba from unFiction.com noticed that the calendars showed a striking resemblance to a type of fish activity calendar called a solunar calendar. Solunar Calendars(taken from Sol=sun and Lunar=moon) uses a theory called Solunar Theory to calculates major and minor solunar periods based on moonrise and moonset, position of sun and moon, as well as the ebb and flow of the tides. [1]

Most minor solunar period last 1 1/2 hours, however which does not correlate directly to the calendars found on hooklineandminker.com. It is assumed that the calendars are some variation of solunar calendars and that it may be possible to pinpoint a specific geographic location from the calendars since every solunar calendar is specific to a location on earth.

Updates

When the HLM site was discovered, the calendar was for the month of June. On July 1st, the calendar was updated accordingly. When the calendar is updated, the image file is replaced on the HLM server. The image files are downloaded by the viral community so that they can be preseverd.
